Appreciating Labor Day

Happy Labor Day weekend to all of the hard-working Americans out there!

Labor Day has been celebrated for way longer than I have been alive. So to me, in the past, it has just been another day off of school or work. Which is much appreciated! But I never really knew what it meant.

Today I was sitting on my couch drinking coffee, watching CBS Sunday Morning and I was getting ready to share The Boot Rack’s Facebook page, yet again, to see if I could get more of my friends and family to “like” our page. As I was doing this, the same thought kept rolling through my head, “I don’t want to bombard my friends and family with my business.”

I paused to really take time to assess the situation, thank you Marine Corps for making me such a critical thinker! I couldn’t help but think how dedicated myself and my team at The Boot Rack are to the success of The Boot Rack. Trista, Teresa, Emily and I work hard day in and day out to try to bring fun, inspiring, quality, affordable clothing, footwear and accessories to our extremely hard-working customers.

Helping our customers find clothes that make them feel confident and beautiful or boots that will stand up to the toughest days is what makes this whole adventure worth it! Without you, our loyal customers, we wouldn’t even have a job to be able to celebrate on Labor Day.

So I took a moment to think about why I am getting a day off tomorrow. What does Labor Day even mean? Then I did what every other curious human being in the world does, I googled it.

This is what I found, “Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.” {Source}

Google always has the answers!

That’s when I decided that, instead of just sharing The Boot Rack’s page yet again, I would write this blog to say why Labor Day and The Boot Rack are so important to me and my team. Without The Boot Rack, we wouldn’t have so much to celebrate on Labor Day. And without you guys, we wouldn’t have The Boot Rack.

So thank you to my team and thank you to all of our customers for making this holiday, and all of the holidays, so special! And don’t forget to “like” us on Facebook! 🙂
